Making a book? Paper? Binding?

I just finished up a 18 page research paper and i want to turn it into a small little book that i could keep forever. I want to find some kind of thick paper that i could print the story on front and back. do you know of such paper? like what is in real books? can i buy it at michaels? how could i bind the book myself with a hard cover without taking it somewhere?

Look at this wikipedia page on bookbinding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_binding . It tells you what the different kinds of techniques are. What I personally would do would be to print it on card stock or some kind of nice paper at a good printer (my university had one that would do it, but I am sure there are printers in your area–not like FedEx or Kinkos, but these might do it to, I am not sure). Also you can have them bind it with various types of binding like spiral bindings and make a cover page the same way. Or you can try a self-publisher like Lulu.
